Russia (Россия, Rossiya, rɐˈsʲijə), or the Russian Federation,links=no is a country spanning Eastern Europe and Northern Asia. Russians are the largest Slavic and European nation; they speak Russian, the most spoken Slavic language, and the most spoken native language in Europe.
