Mangalore University

Mangalore University (MU) is a public university in Konaje, Mangaluru, Karnataka, India. MU has jurisdiction over the districts of Dakshina Kannada, Udupi and Kodagu. The university imparts higher education in field of arts, commerce, science, law and management. In the eighties and early nineties, engineering colleges such as the National Institute of Technology-Surathkal and Manipal Institute of Technology-Manipal were constituent colleges of and affiliated to Mangalore University. These colleges have since been granted deemed university status by the Government of India. Several colleges in and around Mangalore and in Dakshin Kannada are affiliated to this university.
