National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli

National Institute of Technology Tiruchirappalli (NIT Trichy or NITT), is a public technical and research university near the city of Tiruchirappalli in Tamil Nadu, India. Founded in 1964, it is one of India's oldest technical universities and is located in a campus of 800 acres (3.24 km²). The university is recognized as an Institute of National Importance by the Government of India under the National Institutes of Technology, Science Education and Research Act, 2007 and is one of the members of the National Institutes of Technology (NITs) system. The university focuses exclusively on science, technology, engineering, management, and architecture.
